El Puig


puig The charming seaside town of El Puig lies 15 minutes to the north of Valencia. Busy in summer, this typically Mediterranean town nestles between the mountains and the sea with 4km of coast, alternating between sandy and rocky beaches. The town itself is 3km from the beach and is dominated by the Monastery of Santa Maria, built in 1238 by King Jaime I.

The beach is lined with numerous modern apartment buildings and luxury residential areas with exclusive villas, while the town is linked with the city of Valencia by a train that runs every half an hour. There is an extensive choice of attractions, festivals and cultural programmes year-round in this lively little town.
