Marbella and the Costa del Sol increase their appeal amongst buyers of exclusive properties

From its headquarters in the city of Marbella and under the leadership of Pia Arrieta, DM Properties has extended its international presence thanks to the appearance of the company on various leading global networks such as Christie’s International Real Estate, Luxury Portfolio or Luxury Real Estate Companies of the World and Knight Frank LLP in December 2014. Similar to Rimontgó, DM Properties is a founding member of the European Real Estate Network (EREN).

The strength of DM Properties is testimony to the current status of Marbella, and in association, that of the Costa del Sol, as one of the most attractive destinations in Spain. This is reflected not only in the mass tourism to the area but also in the increase in the number of property transactions carried out there in the luxury sector. Currently in Marbella and the surrounding areas, there is real interest from potential buyers for newly constructed properties, whereby the design and architecture of the estates are often deciding factors. The popularity of these types of properties, and consequently their relative scarcity, has led to a dramatic increase in the sale of land to new buyers whose aim it is to construct their own houses with the aforementioned characteristics.

Over the years buyers from the Netherlands and other Scandinavian countries have maintained their interest in the Costa del Sol while there has been a sharp decline in the number of Russian buyers as a result of the conflict with Ukraine. However, DM Properties is expecting a significant increase in the demand for luxury properties from non-residents originating from China or Arabic countries as a result of the introduction of the Support Law for Entrepreneurs and their internationalization, with progress being made regarding visas and residence permits in Spain.
